Getting clean for Jesus.

I shared a few weeks ago about how my son has really taken to showers here.
Well, my sweet boys passion for showers has not let up since. I realized that he can take a shower by himself (while I sit and watch). He doesn't do much beside stand in the water, sit in the water, walk through the water or just watch me but he can manage in there all by himself.
So let us begin.
A face only a mama could love.
How can a picture go from being SO adorable......
To so not by a slight push of a nose!
 And back to being precious.

Good thing I clean the shower.
Happy Sunday.

Just a glimpse

It has been a fun week, I am realizing more and more that I need to take in everything about having 1 child because soon (not only will I have a newborn) but there will be a 2nd child, full time, always living with us. I know these last few months with Tenn are so precious and special and even though he may never ever remember them I plan to document them. Our last alone time, before we meet out baby sister who will rock our world and enrich our lives beyond what we could imagine. Our sweet baby Ava Elizabeth.
SO the other morning when I woke up to find it was just about 60 degrees out (and terribly cloudy) I made an executive decision: I would light a pumpkin spice candle and make scones, in preparation for fall of course.

And the boy liked them, just like his mama (who ate 8 during the course of the day).
My boy goes between 2 fantasy's. One if that he is a "Space Ranger" and he wants to fly to the moon. The second is when he squeezes on his cowboy hat (that really doesn't fit, and never has) and becomes a cowboy! He takes it very seriously.
And a little Monday Night football with daddy:)

Then it was a treat, we woke up to SUN and HEAT and even during breakfast we knew our day was going to be great.
SO we headed to the park, a fav hotspot

love this boy.

Such a cool kid, he would grab his snack and then go lean against a tree to eat it:)
After the park we had a picnic at home and capped it off with getting wet because nothing screams summer more then a wet romp in the yard (in your undies) and drinking from a hose.

You can kinda see the bump, right?
Happy Friday:)

I will take what I can get.

"Seattle, we have a problem"

Yep, the sun disappeared for about a week and as the mother of a 2 year old I was NOT super excited about it. What do you do? Well I started going to the gym twice a day so my kid would have some interaction with others. Then I threw out my back (because I am an old woman at heart...and body) and the gym has been off limits for the last 2 days.
SO we found other activities to keep us entertained:
This is called "Standing in my car basket" and it bound to entertain your kid for at least 6 seconds.
This is called "Shovel your breakfast into your face like you will never eat again"
And this is "Ask for eggs with cheese and then only eat off the cheese" which is a Tennyson favorite.
SO (Thank you Jesus) the sun was out bright and early this am. So we headed out at 8am to make the most of it.
A good day always starts with a little Buzz and Woody:

Tenn loves to dance and also loves to make all of his toys dance (hence the blurry Woody).

Is anything more adorable then rain boots? Don't mind the grass/weeds. When you buy a house that has been vacant for 2 years it takes time to get a lawn that resembles grass.

Notice the scratch below Tenn's eye.
He got it at the gym in the kids play room. Apparently a little boy scratched him on purpose and my sweet boy didn't react. He didn't cry, didn't push the kid or tell the teacher, he just walked away and played by himself. Enough to make you cry OR try and talk your husband into making your kid a fighting machine. Well, Daniel didn't go for it and was SO proud of Tenn for not doing anything back. So I also praised him for obeying even though that ROTTEN kid didn't.
I am (seriously) glad I have a husband who reacts well to things and not overreacts (like I have been known to do.... sometimes.....or every time:)

Happy sun day Seattle! And Happy Friday to the rest of you:)

Double time.

After waiting for some sun I can tell you that now (On August 1st) that Summer is here. I think she has been around for a few days now and i gotta say, my heart is full of joy. It is WORK to entertain a 2 year old boy when it is raining outside!
I am amazed that every stinkin day my babe turns away from babyhood and is quickly becoming a real boy. He still manages to keep me close my saying "Mama I wanna hold you" a handful of times a day. SO what is a mama to do? Yep, I drop everything and hug him. I ask him if I can kiss him forever and tell him I love him so much. I mean, what do you do?
I am fully aware that in a blink of an eye I will be signing him up for pre school (in a year!) and then we will be figuring out Jr High school supplies (and math:)) and then he will graduate. I may sound ahead of myself but ask any mama of grown kids, it happens *this* fast.
I am aware, and so I choose to love hard.
Tenn skinned his knee on the driveway requiring 1 band aid. He screamed about 1 but the 3 I wasted to calm him down were fine....

SO with a 2 year old we have started watching what we say, some words are off limits (like the word diarrhea, Tenn doesn't know what it is but if we use the word he will immediately say "UM MM, I love to eat diarrhea"!) Another word that is of limits in the word "shower", Tennyson is obsessed with everything shower related.

No, those are NOT my hairy legs, daddy said "the word" and so he had to take a shower with our kid!

On Saturdays Maple Valley has this great farmers market, Daniel had never been so we went in search of 1 thing: a doughnut that I once saw there that is 12 inches in diameter, and the market did not disappoint.

I know there is no frame of reference for the size but it IS 12 inches across, promise. And we 3 ate it in 2 minutes.

gramma came for a visit and brought Tenns fav present! BOOKS!
The perfect thing about a little boy is that he loves the simple things, like a glass top table....

I spy a PLANE!

not to glorify a fit but seriously, who can feel bad for a fake cry face like this?

I have issues keeping my eyes fully open....

Tenn found an old sprinkler and holds it as shown above and says "CHEESE!"

Love my sweet babe, happy Monday.
